Vapes on the Gold Coast: Important Notice
Access to vapes and vaping products on the Gold Coast have recently undergone significant changes. As of the 1st of October 2024, the TGA has enacted new laws to regulate the sale of these products. The only legal way to obtain a vape, regardless of whether or not it contains nicotine, is through a licensed pharmacy.
A prescription is now required for vapes if they contain more than 20 mg/mL of nicotine. A prescribing doctor will assess each patient via an initial consultation to determine an appropriate dosage. If the vaping product has a concentration less than 20 mg/mL it can be purchased over the counter. However, these products cannot be sold to persons under the age of 18.
